What to see?
Amsterdam is teeming with tourist attractions, famous buildings and museums. A few of them: New Cathedral, the Royal Palace, the Gothic Old Church (Oude Kerk), St. Anthony's Gate and the famous Red Light District, Van Gogh Museum and the painters Rembrandt House. You will be surprised while visiting the flower market, where you can find hundreds of flower species. Amsterdam is known for its romantic old town streets and canals, on which it is possible to swim in the summer and ski in winter. The Netherlands is also famous for its tulips bloom festival that takes place every spring. Near the Amsterdam Keukenhof park yearly-event has become one of the most popular attractions in all of the Netherlands.
How to get there?
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is 16 kilometers from the centre. It can reach 197 or 370 bus routes. Train to Amsterdam takes 15 minutes from the station, located near the airport. Train tickets can be purchased in special yellow ticket machines.
How much does it cost?
Comparing the prices to Vilnius', Holland is a bit pricier. Dinning at a mid-level restaurant will cost about 15 euros per person, local beer mug - 4 euro, a single bus ticket price is 2.90 euros.
